Kelseyville Parade and Hotcakes for Heroes

Kelseyville Christmas in the Country Parade

On Friday, Julie Ann and I attended the parade in Kelseyville. There was so much to do along Main Street.
We rode in style for the parade in a horse drawn carriage!

Thank You Nathan for getting such a great picture of Julie Ann and I!
We made sure to dress warm and bring our gloves!

Hotcakes for Heroes

Lakeport Lighted Christmas Parade

Oh my we were busy on Saturday! Our first stop was Santa's Workshop where Santa was taking pictures with the kids! We passed out maps for the elf on the shelf hunt. The game is for families to go into local business's along Main Street and find the elf hidden on the shelf! They have to find the elf on each store listed and have it signed off by an employee. After all of the stores are checked off, the card goes into a drawing for prizes!

Julie Ann and I at Santa's Workshop

Kelseyville High School's Miss Bass Bowl 2012 Maleah joined us for the lighted parade as well. After all the meeting and greeting, we worked up an appetite! We went to Cheese's Main Street Pizza in Lakeport.

Yum Pizza!

Then it was time to get ready for the parade. We went into Prisco Clothing on Main Street to change in the dressing rooms. The owner of the store showed us the catalogs of gowns that she can special order. We know where we're going for our state competition wardrobe!

A big thank you goes out to Jeff Hansen and his wife of the Corvette Club for driving us in the lighted parade. It was so much fun meeting everyone and climbing into some beautiful cars!

Miss Marin County 2013 Pageant

On November 12, 2012 Miss Marin County was crowned.
This was my first pageant as a visiting titleholder and it was a very new experience. It was great to meet all the current titleholders and chat with them. Everyone was so kind.

Tony brought us onstage and asked us each a question about our platforms or what our favorite appearance has been.

Miss Lake County 2012 Jennifer Humble attends Dominican College and competed for the Miss Marin title. It was a lot of fun to cheer on one of my friends and watch her earn more scholarship money!

Jennifer placed first runner up, Congrats Jen!

The new Miss Marin County is Paige Shaw and Miss Marin County's Outstanding Teen is Perry Borders. Congratulations girls! See you at Miss California in June!

McBoo Night

Every Halloween, Pat and John Norcio (owners of McDonalds in Lakeport) throw a costume contest for kids. There were so many amazing costumes!

Siblings with homemade costumes. So beautiful!
I had so much fun with the kids passing out candy and leading one of the groups in a costume parade.

I even met some lovely princesses!

These girls were so sweet and we had a great talk about what it means to be a princess.

A big thank you goes out to the Norcio's for inviting me to celebrate with them!

I had so much fun taking a tour of the "castle" and meeting many faculty members and the President of Marymount College.

And of course, the night wouldn't be complete without doing a raffle ticket drawing.

Trick-or-Treat on Main Street

Trick-or-Treat!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I love dressing up as something else! This year was very different because instead of passing out candy at home, I was hanging out with kids and judging a costume contest. The Main Street Association puts on "Trick-or-Treat on Main Street" every year. This year it was held October 30th. Participating businesses on Main Street hand out candy to all dressed up children. It's a fun community event that I was part of this year!

TAC and her baby mermaid! 3rd place winner of age division

This years Bass Bowl Queens and I had the chance to be judges for the costume contest held at Meuseum Park in Lakeport. Judging is so hard when all the kids and families look so great! My favorite outfits are the handmade ones or very intricate makeup.

An amazing handmade first place costume!

There were so many amazing outfits and makeup this year! Sawna, Maleah and I had so much fun interacting with everyone and handing out prizes for best costumes.

Thank you Lyle (Owner of Lakeport Party Store) for inviting us to be a part of the festivities!

Hometown Fun!

 Bass Bowl III

Friday October 26th was the big Bass Bowl football game between Kelseyville High and Clear Lake High. I attended this fun event to support the schools and see who the trophy was going home with. There were so many people attending and I had a great time rooting on the teams!

Clear Lake High School walked away with the trophy for a second year in a row and the next day, the CLHS cheer team came home with two trophy's from a state cheer competition.
Congratulations to CLHS on your big winning weekend!

Lakeport Speedway

On Saturday night I attended the last night of racing for the season at Lakeport Speedway. I received the chance to sing the National Anthem for the opening of the races. I'm always so happy to perform there because everyone is so sweet and supportive at our local speedway.

I started off getting a ride in the Cadillac equipped with shooting flames that is in all our local parades. Pat the driver was so silly and told lots of jokes.

After I got to the front of the crowd, the announcer read a short bio of who I am and what I do. It was fun to hear the crowd cheer me on before I even started!

After performing the National Anthem, I was honored with the Makenna Rose Enger National Anthem Award of Appreciation. I'm so blessed to live in such a kind and supportive community!

I had so much fun signing autographs for children and taking lots of pictures. Overall, it was a very rewarding night.

I even got to watch the boat races! For those of you that are not familiar with the boat races at the Lakeport Speedway, it's a hilarious high energy demolition race. The track is watered and soaped up before the race. Vehicles with old boats attached are lined up on the track and told to race and destroy other peoples boats. There are crashes among the vehicles and boat debris everywhere at the end. It's a lot of fun!

Pear Festival and Bass Bowl Pageant

I've been putting this off far too long.

Pear Festival

On Saturday September 29th was the Pear Festival! I got the chance to appear in the parade with my wonderful driver Bill in his beautiful car. It was a different experience than my first parade because there was so many more spectators and parade entries. I had a hard time waving to both sides of the street without looking silly. People continually wave at me in the typical pageant wave and ask me to wave back. I always get a laugh out of it!

2012 Bass Bowl Pageant

Sunday October 14th, we crowned the new Bass Bowl Queens and Kings. This year was different from last year because we crowned the kings too!
The Bass Bowl was created to raise money for Clear Lake High School and Kelseyville High School athletics. These 2 schools have been rivals for decades. The Bass Bowl is the football game between these schools and brings along school spirit and community involvement. Last year CLHS took home the trophy which stands tall in the office of the school.
The Bass Bowl Pageant was created for students of the schools to earn scholarship money while having fun and being introduced to the pageant world. Last year, I competed in the pageant as an alumni and won the CLHS title. It was a lot of fun to support my old high school!

Brianna and I last year after we won. Want to see more pics from last years pageant? Click here!

This year, as Miss Lake County, I had the pleasure of being a judge for this show. It was so different being on the other side to judge rather than be judged. I enjoyed judging because I know how scary it is to get up in front of a crowd and perform. All the kids who competed blew me away and were so hilarious!

All the judges for the night

We had a few special guest entertainers there such as K-Town and my sweet teen Julie Ann Mather. The night was filled with laughs and lots of fun. The Bass Bowl Committee raised money for each of the schools athletics and at the end of the night, voting closed for the "Kiss My Bass" Fundraiser. Rob Ishihara, the coach of Kelseyvilles football team, had to kiss a small bass caught from our very own Clear Lake.

The winners were finally announced afterwards. The winning king and queen for KHS are Johnmark and Maleah. The winning king and queen of CLHS are Brandon and Shawna. Congrats to the winners who will receive scholarship money for school!
